Merits:

*convenient links *easy to read, portable, handy

*can be edited with software and saved in disk *comfortable for eyes

*can look up for new vocabulary directly online *fulfilling to see handwritings on papers

*can also be marked by some tools *traditional way people are easily used to

*can save papers

Demerits:

*harmful for eyes (?) *a waste of resources

*inconvenient to bring *inconvenient to search for other information

Other opinions:

*suitable for high-proficiency learners *suitable for low-proficiency learners

*appropriate for extensive reading *appropriate for intense reading
