You have choices in Online English Learning. There are always things that you are interested in understanding. With these choices comes the question of how you show the desired depth of understanding.

Reading and Writing

In f2f meeting, we talked about ESL Standards for Pre-K12 Students,
National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) , Egbert’s (2005), Chapter2, and Coiro's (2003) Article.

On BB, we discussed Coiro's (2003)’s article. I asked three questions:

  1. Do you use the same kinds of strategies for print texts as you do for reading hypertext?
  2. What are some new ways of thinking about accessing, manipulating, and responding to multimedia representations of information?
  3. What do you think you might contribute to this body of knowledge through interactive texts?

Students brought about interesting points on Q1 & 3, but only a couple of them answered Q2 well.

Anyone wants to try Q2 again?

What a long lecture with little interaction!

I noticed a couple of students yawning!
