The Simpsons webquest
This webquest is about the cartoon series-The Simpson's in the U.S. and is aiming for the 9-12th high school students. The sutdents need to proceed an unfinished story based on the understanding of the Simpson's. They have to understand the personality of each character well and even get to know the social context this cartoon series implies by visiting the websites we provide first, then continue the situation we provide. They can create a very simple story happening only on the main characters we mention or they can extend the story by adding more characters and current social context in the U.S.. As a result, the task of this webquest is a rather flexible. The students can make it simple or complicated, and the teacher can get to know the language proficiency of each student out of their works. enjoy:) http://www.freewebtown.com/boucicaut/

1. Interesting topic to arouse learners’ interests, but it also should be noticed that not every senior high school student knows what Simpson’s family is and not all everyone likes them. If so, how to increase their learning motivation? You may want to describe the characters a bit more in your own words instead of just providing some links.
2. The webquest is very simple, easy and clear to follow. Though the content is not as abundant as Vercy’s group, it is enough for learners to carry out a small but complete task. I love the simple but clear framework you have done!
3. The image of the webpage is vivid and eye-catching. But the picture on the evaluation page somehow cannot work (at least on the moment I read), so you may want to check it again.
p.s. There is a typo (instruction) in the fifth line of the introduction part in the first page; you may want to correct it. :) (by Celia and Julie)
They really did a good job! They design their website in an interesting way, since they choose Simpson to be their main theme. They give an introduction of this site and the steps to finish a task in a very clear way and the most considerate thing is that they highlight the names of characters with different colors. Just as teacher recommended in class today it will be better if this group add an introduction part of characters in home page. Besides, this site also fits its target learners – high school students. Because Taiwanese students begin to learn writing English composition in high schools, this site, however, provides another interesting way for them to improve their English writing skills. In the process of finishing the task learners can also improve their critical thinking. Their evaluation criteria also give learners clear guidelines to examine their works.

Topic: We all think that you have picked a pretty interesting topic for your webquest. Simpson’s in no doubt a famous cartoon in the U.S., it will definitely arouse the learner’s interest to do this webquest. Story telling is also a good way to encourage student to learn. By writing a story a student could not only practice his/her writing skill but also to train their critical thinking. The material you provide for this webquest seems fun! This doubting setting of the webquest creates many more possibilities, which tends to bring out the curiosity and imagination of a learner.
Design: As for the design, the colorful template attracts people. It is really nice to use different color to highlight the characters’ names, it help learners to distinguish each character. And the design of the evaluation chart is great! The character Bart would definitely catch everyone’s attention!! Replacing word links to picture links is a creative idea; it may become a kind of attractant to learning.
We all think that your webquest are pretty straightforward and interesting, and here are some little suggestions to your group:
-Sometimes your evaluation chart won’t come out successfully; maybe you should take a look. Also sometimes the whole webpage just would not appear.
-You have put categories such as introduction, task, and process on the same page, it is ok, but maybe you can still create links on the left column to make them appear clearer.
-There seems to appear several little word mistakes, remember to avoid this, because after all, this is for language learning, what you wrote may all be imitated by some student.
