JazzzzzZZZZZ(webquest for final project)
This webquest for final project focuses on the western culture, Jazz. With some creative and collaborating activities, this webquest is aimed at high school students. After completing tasks we designers assign, we expect students to not only gain relevant knowledge of Jazz, but also by fostering four language abilities enjoy their English learning with an active attitude.

1. Well-organized and user-friendly. I can follow the steps easily.
2. Abundant content to enlarge learners’ knowledge.
3. The PowerPoint file in the introduction page is amazing; it has melodious background music and fascinating pictures.
4. The topic is creative and meaningful.
5. After seeing your revised version, your evaluation part really improves a lot!
6. It is great to see your reflection: what you have learned and how you feel from this final project. But it would be better if you can also include your reflection on what you have learned from Jazz, or your personal thoughts on Jazz as samples for students. Since you want to inspire students to learn Western culture by means of Jazz music, you may state your own reflection on Jazz to students as well rather than only focus on the webquest project.
p.s. Some commas (’) in your texts become question marks (?), somehow. You might want to check it again. :) (by Celia and Julie)
After going through your webquest, I was really impressed by its bountiful and organized content, which reflects how much effort your group must had put in this project.
Therefore my advice is on the presentational prospects. For me, there are two things that would make your project even more perfect:
1. Since your site is about music, I would suggest you to embed audio components in it. Just imagine how wonderful it would be to have Billy Holiday singing when people enters your home page?
2. Right now, the PPT slide you put on your site to attract and arouse students' interests, is only accessible after downloading. Just think how much more magnetic it would be if you can let people view your sildes right on your home page?
I believe if you take my advice and make slight modifications, your site would definitely shine!

The evaluation is divided into four parts:
1.Creativity:
The webpage has a good structure, each part is clearly divided. The introduction part is especially eye-catching. The music and the PowerPoint matches totally, it works well to motivate student’s desire to follow more about the task.
2.Content:
Each part was given enough information, but some times, especially the teacher’s page, the information should cut short to make it more concise and precise. A lot of words to complicate it is not always a good thing. For this case, when the target students are foreign language learners, the words should be precise and short, giving useful commands, or else it may cause more confusion.
3.Target:
It’s fair that the target students are high school students who have already attained certain levels of critical thinking and language proficiency to allow them to write lyrics, which is not an easy thing. To do so, the student would have to think deep to cerate a suitable and meaningful lyric, with the help of learned English. It is hard to express your mind if the language was not fluent enough. But your group may want to bring the issue of cultural learning more up to the front. Since this is something alien to eastern country students, to learn about Jazz would force them to approach a new culture, and to look into historical contexts would work as training on critical thinking and self-scrutinization.
4.General:
The overall effect is good, hard works setting up the webquest could be detected. The information is abundant and useful, the task is fun, but the evaluation was a little bit too board and general. Maybe the evaluation should focus more on the task part, and give precise criteria of what exactly is a better lyric that show the learner’s language level and critical thinking. However, it would still be a fun task.
